This project is very interesting .Although we know that there are some TV tuner cards in market which are also operated by remote but in this project we need not any TV tuner card. Actually here some common controls of windows are handled by TV remote through Serial port of computer.
Again a very popular microcontroller AT89S52 is used here to provide a interface between the IR(infrared) and remote. The microcontroller decodes the signal coming from remote and sends it to Computer via Serial port and a program in Visual basic takes decision to control windows tasks .
This system let you convert you computer in to remote controlled PC then you can use your computer as remotely operated music system or media player.
Some common tasks like mouse up, mouse down, left click, right click and window media player control can be handled through this system.
